A Week of Twelve Days, Box Set

A Week of Twelve Days, Box Set

A Week of Twelve Days is a box set by Dan Hillier, featuring 12 exciting new works.

The box set is inspired by Hillier’s collection of books, featuring the work of Gustave Doré – a French artist from the late 1800s, who was regularly enlisted to make drawings of religious tales, legends and folklore, which would then be handed to steel and wood engravers to be reproduced in large leather-bound volumes.

Speaking of his collection, Hillier comments: ‘In an increasingly virtual world, I wanted to make something material that looks and feels beautiful and timeless, is sweet to the touch and the eye, and as a collection is very much a nod to the wondrous old books that the elements of these images were sourced from.’

The collection comes in a foil stamped archival box. Each piece has hand-deckled edges and is signed and numbered by the artist.
