Ariel is a bringer of light in dark times, known as the ‘Lioness of God’ and guardian of the natural elements. In Emma de Polnay’s interpretation, she exists somewhere between an ethereal showgirl from a bygone era and a battle-worn eco-warrior clad in distressed, tarnished armour.
This piece also pays subtle homage to the iconic seaside ‘peace statue’ that marks the boundary between Brighton and Hove—Emma’s hometown—blending local heritage with timeless symbolism.
From a limited edition of 50, each artwork is printed on 330gsm Somerset Velvet paper with a hand-torn edge, and comes signed and numbered by the artist.
