In Big Blue Bombom, London-based artist Lucie Bennett continues her series featuring large-scale derrieres. It follows in the wake of the success of Big Pink Bum, released in 2020.
As with its predecessor, this piece is a celebration of the "behind', inspired by oversized works by artists such as Oldenburg and Newton.
Colour plays an important role in Bennett's work and she spends time carefully selecting the perfect palette for each print. Her inspiration for the background colour was vanilla ice-cream, referencing the beach and sunnier climes, and the turquoise was chosen to summon the idea of crystal waters.
This silkscreen print is from a limited edition of 15, signed and numbered by the artist.
