Big Proof Forever is a limited edition screen print by acclaimed contemporary artist Obey (aka Shepard Fairey). First released on 31st December 2006, the piece was a collaboration between Fairey and Shady Records to create a memorial print for hip hop artist Proof, who was tragically killed in Detroit. The net profits of the print will be donated towards the āBig Proof Forever Foundation,ā to help build a future for the artistās family.
Faireyās print depicts a stencilled image of the hip hop pioneer in 70s shades of orange and black: a subtle nod to the earliest roots of hip hop. Famed for his āAndre the Giant Has a Posseā sticker campaign in 1989, and his āHopeā Obama poster for the 2008 US presidential candidacy, Obey has earned his place as one of the worldās most acclaimed contemporary street artists.
