In the wake of the enormous success of Peter Blake's Venice Suite, came his coveted Paris Quartet, a comedic collection of four collages, based around the City of Light.

Blake once again dips into his collection of animal husbandry manuals, illustrated dictionaries and photography archives to create a collection that perfectly marries sentimentality with joyous absurdity, and truly captures the joie de vivre of Paris.

In Birds Blake has transformed the space outside Palais Garnier into an aviary populated by birds ranging from pelicans, to peacocks and pigeons, and a small, but rather nervous, group of onlookers.

Part of a limited edition of 125, the piece is signed by the artist.
