Candy Darling is a silkscreen giclée print from Sara Pope’s coveted collection of lip portraits.

Each lifelike piece that Pope creates begins life with a photographic shoot, a model and a touch of make-up. The models are asked to think about certain emotions and life events. This allows Pope to capture the array of moods our mouths help us to convey, whether that be happiness, love or flirtation.

Next, Pope paints the lips using multiple thin layers of oil to create the glass-like quality her artworks are known for.
