The show continues Rose’s exploration of the Machiavellian branding tactics used by companies to sell dangerous products. By evoking classic works, Rose compares Shakespearean tragedy with the conflicts between cigarette company and consumer.
In Capulet, Mini Rose immortalises the House of Capulet, one of the feuding families featured in Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. By pairing this nod to the play with cigarette branding, Rose muses on the addictive effect of both love and tobacco.
