Colour Splat Edge is a silkscreen print by acclaimed contemporary artist Ian Davenport. This limited edition print is based on an original that the artist made using household paint. Here, the splat of Davenport’s process is self-evident: like a paint-ball site after the event, globules of pigment have hit the surface of the canvas to create an explosive cloud of colour, which drips into a busy network of rainbow squiggles. In this high-quality silkscreen print, the intensity of the original pigment is captured, standing out against the hard black background.

Davenport is known as one of the leading figures of the Young British Artists who rose to prominence in the 1990s.
