Dan Hillier rose to fame in 2014 when he designed the cover for Brighton based band Royal Blood. His style is both surreal and Victorian, he sources old prints, woodcuts and engraving which he then collages. His work has mythical and spiritual qualities that take the viewer to different worlds.
Cthulhu is a fictional cosmic entity which is at once an octopus, dragon and human. In this piece it appear that the monster is being born from a vast depth. The symmetry gives it a mesmerising quality. Cthulhu is a monochrome limited screen print on 300 gsm somerset soft white smooth paper.
