The Dazzle Alphabet Letter A is a signed limited edition of 100 silkscreen prints with glazes by the Godfather of Pop Art, Peter Blake.
The name āDazzleā is both a nod to Blakeās earlier work, and his more recent interest in the ādazzle effectā ā a method of camouflage used to help vessels avoid enemy detection during World War One.
Blake became fascinated in typography whilst studying Art at Gravesend Technical College from 1949-1951, where he mastered traditional crafts including Roman letter, typesetting and hand lettering. Youāll notice, much of his iconic work features text, whether itās the star of the show like in this collection, or an integral part of the piece.
