Double Flower Portrait After Fantin-Latour, Original

Inspired by the old masters but far from traditional, Chris Kettle is a fine artist who paints obscure objects in odd arrangements to create what he calls a ‘New Still Life’.

This is one of a series Kettle has created in homage to French painter, Henri Fantin-Latour – known for his impressionist portraits of flowers.

The artwork is a prime example of Kettle’s work, in which he endeavours to portray elements of human emotion using inanimate subject matter. The piece depicts the same bunch of flowers, one captured in stillness, the next, blurred as if observed in passing.

Hand-finished on prime board, this is an original piece, signed by the artist.
