The Dream Gardens monotypes are a series of 25 works featuring hand-painted and collaged elements on silkscreen prints. Based on his wife Rosie's garden in Spain, McLean uses color and texture to create shadows, forms, and the suggestion of light, expressing his vision of his dream garden. McLean has also used this theme to create a series of ceramics called Garden Ware.
