Durchgangszimmer Orange responds to a pivotal conversation in Christopher Isherwood’s 1939 novel Goodbye Berlin. The term Durchgangszimmer, meaning “a room between rooms,” inspired Götz to imagine this conversation occurring in a less formal space, softening the weight of the discussion. The dominant orange section evokes wallpaper, while the neutral tones balance the strong palette, enhancing the piece’s emotional depth.
