According to Celtic mythology, Elm trees are a symbol of an idyllic life, with the shade they cast said to be particularly cool and peaceful.

This piece depicts the rings of an elm tree, and the Brown Hairstreak Butterfly that can only exist in the tiny eco-system found at the tops of those trees.
