Eye of History Etching I

In Marc Quinn’s Eye of History series, which features a portfolio of eight etchings, the artist overlays his Iris series with maps of the world – in this instance, The Americas.

The Iris series is an exploration of the idea that in the age of the Internet, what we see dominates our perception of the world. By overlaying images with world maps from different perspectives, Quinn invites us to consider the paranoid world that we live in, and how our boundaries, of both experience and geographical territory, are rapidly changing.
