Yuya Hashizume is a contemporary Japanese artist known for anime artworks inspired by the style of iconic manga artist, Fujiko F. Fujio. Hashizume's works, which feature bold lines and flat panes of colour, are known for capturing adolescent characters in moments of vulnerability.  

This piece is from Hashizume's Eyewater series, in which he depicts his subjects at the moment when a single tear falls from their eye.
