Jana Nicole is known for merging style, substance and subject to create a beautiful, bold aesthetic. Her irresistible mixed-media works explore everything from the wonder of the natural world and mysticism, to politics and erotica.

This piece is an extension of Nicole's award-winning Botanical Troupe series, in which she celebrates the innate wisdom of mycelium, and the support it provides to the botanical worlds it inhabits. Nicole has chosen to team her fungi with a skateboard deck as she sees a similar sense of community within the skateboarding community, with boarders nurturing each other and sharing their wisdom.
