Framed (BTP) Paris, Butterflies I

Since his career began in the 1950s, Sir Peter Blake has been prolific, creating paintings, collage, typography and more inspired by his fascination with popular culture. Blake’s impact on the face of contemporary art is so significant, he is now known as the ‘Godfather of Pop Art.’

This piece hails from Blake's beloved Paris Suite, which draws inspiration from the City of Love. 

In this romantic image featuring the Eiffel Tower, Blake pays homage to fellow artist, Damien Hirst using antique images of butterflies sourced from his extensive collection of ephemera. 

This silkscreen print is from a limited edition of 100, signed and numbered by the artist.
