Framed (BTP) Paris, Circus I

Framed (BTP) Paris, Circus I

Since his career began in the 1950s, Sir Peter Blake has been prolific, creating paintings, collage, typography and more inspired by his fascination with popular culture. Blake’s impact on the face of contemporary art is so significant, he is now known as the ‘Godfather of Pop Art.'

This piece hails from Blake’s much-loved Paris Suite, which draws inspiration from the City of Love.

In Paris- Circus I, Blake creates an open-air circus spectacular in front of the now-demolished Palais du Trocadéro. The artwork is a prime example of how Blake's fascination with the circus permeates his oeuvre.

This silkscreen print is from a limited edition of 100, signed and numbered by the artist..
