Framed Denmark
Denmark is from Charlotte Roseās 2023 solo show curated by Enter Gallery, The Shakespeare Tobacco Company.
The show continues Roseās exploration of the Machiavellian branding tactics used by companies to sell dangerous products. By evoking classic literature, Rose compares Shakespearean tragedy with the conflicts between cigarette company and consumer.
In this piece, Rose creates her own take on the stark warnings found on modern cigarette packets. By depicting Bugs confronting the skull of Elmer Fudd as Hamlet once contemplated the skull of Yorick, the artwork symbolises the inevitable decay of the human body.

Please note: This piece comes framed in a 25mmĀ whiteĀ box frame with white float and regular glass.
