One of the major abstract figures of contemporary British art. From artist to teacher, McLean makes his own rules - he has done ever since the 1960s, when he trailed the blaze of British conceptual art with his distinctive brand of abstraction. Regarded as one of the major players in contemporary British art. Rebellious and pioneering, McLean loosened traditional forms into abstraction and paved the way for pop art aesthetics.

Designer Trees is a strong abstract silkscreen print with collage elements. Inspired by London the two black trees and inclusion of a segment from a London street map represent a London park on a sunny day building atmosphere with strong colour blues it references Moda which is a nod to is companion abstract piece Pink Moda.
