The piece is inspired by McLean's wife Rosy’s garden in Spain. It is part of a series of 25 works created using hand-painted and collaged elements.
In the piece, McLean uses colour and texture to create shadows and forms, and the suggestion of light to express his vision of his dream garden. McLean has also used this theme to create a series of ceramics called Garden Ware.
