Framed Homage to Rauschenberg V

Homage to Rauschenberg V is a collaged silkscreen print by acclaimed British pop artist, Sir Peter Blake. Finished with gold leaf, diamond dust, embossing and glazes, the piece is from a limited edition of 125, each one hand signed and numbered by Blake himself.

New York artist Robert Rauschenberg has had a defining influence on Blake throughout his career. Rising to prominence in the 1950s, Rauschenberg anticipated the first wave of pop art, through his use of collage and his attention to everyday consumer items.

In this homage, Blake references the collaged silkscreens that Rauschenberg produced throughout the 1960s, by stitching together an array of brightly coloured imagery: illustrations of parrots and lemons, a snakes and ladders board, a number plate from Utah and, of course, a big letter "R' for Robert Rauschenberg.
