Mateo uses forgotten images and traditional patterns and symbols to create his ‘monologues of the soul’. In creating artworks from carpets traditionally woven by women and placed on the ground, Mateo honours ancient cultures, and celebrates the beauty and strength of women.

Lavada XL has been created especially for Mateo’s 'Ink and Paper' showcase at Enter Gallery in April 2022.

This giclée and silkscreen print is an Artist Proof, hand-finished with spray paint, and signed by the artist. It also comes framed in a 25mm black box frame with black shadow float.
