Mateo Humano is a Montreal-based artist who uses forgotten images and traditional patterns and symbols to create his ‘monologues of the soul’. Through his art, Mateo honours ancient cultures, and celebrates the beauty and strength of women.
In merging his subject’s face with the intricate patterns of a Persian rug, Mateo evokes a sense of tranquillity and inner strength. By placing the mandala on the third eye, the artist invites us to explore the expansive depths of our minds.
