Chrisie Nimenko is a New Zealand born artist, now living and working in rural Gloucestershire. The artist is known for arresting mixed-media collages, inspired by the natural world.
Moon Rising, 2020 comes from a series of work, inspired by Phillip Pullman's, His Dark Materials trilogy, in which the artist explores the darkness and light contained in the human psyche.
In this collage, the owls serve as good omens, sent to offer us protection. Nimenko's use of a marble skull and a flower named, Night-Blowing Cereus, is intended to make us consider our mortality.
This giclee print is from a limited edition of 100, signed by the artist.
