Framed Queen in Blood Diamonds, Positively Negative
Available to buy from 9am on Friday 29th January as part of our Rare Print Show.
Queen in Blood Diamonds, Positively Negative is a 3 colour silkscreen print, printed on recycled 1200 micron grey pulp card by Jamie Reid. Signed and numbered by the artist.
Jamie Reid has never been afraid of subverting pop culture icons in his art to produce disconcertingly compelling results. ‘Queen in Blood Diamonds’ is a re-work of his album art for Scorzayzee’s record ‘Great Britain’. The piece depicts the Queen in the same blood diamond crown as his infamous ‘God Save the Queen’ work he did with the Sex Pistols. A piece of modern British art history, ’Queen in Blood Diamonds’ is evidence that British counter-culture is still well and truly alive.
This piece has been framed in a 25mm black box frame.
