Contemporary artist, Dan Hillier is known for his hypnotic symmetry line drawings, inspired by found etchings, wood cuts, engravings, symbolism and Victoriana. Each piece reflects his love of the natural world, ancient traditions and "the ever-unfolding and often mystical experience of being alive'.

Hillier was inspired to create River whilst walking to the source of the River Thames in Oxfordshire, swimming and camping out over a period of six days.
