Speaking of how he interpreted the theme in this piece, Kettle reveals:Ā
"I've painted the roses in the usual cool shaded atmosphere with a feeling that they're growing towards and searchingĀ forĀ light and a faint but distant 'Sun'. I wanted the power and drama of sunlight to infiltrate the shade and somehow liberate the roses, to inject hope; light shining through the darkness, perhaps as a metaphor for these times, and indeed all times."Ā
From a limited edition of 50, the piece is signed and numbered by the artist. It alsoĀ comes framed in a 25mm white box frame.
