Mateo has created Tabut especially for the Art Yard Sale. The piece is available exclusively at Enter Gallery.
To create his 'monologues of the soul', Mateo paints his portraits onto ornamental rugs, seamlessly fusing the carpet's design with the features of the subject. In moving the rugs from their usual place on the floor, to a vertical position on the wall, each artwork is a powerful celebration of the strength and complexity of women.
Mateo explains: "I try to represent the essence and soul of the feminine. She is nobody and at the same time everybody."
From a limited edition of 30, each giclée print is finished with deckled edges and comes signed and numbered by the artist.
Please note: This piece comes framed in a 25mm black box frame with black shadow float and regular glass.
