Framed Too Macho Too Mucho
Too Macho, Too Macho is an original piece by Brighton-based graffiti artist, Aroe.
Despite hating guns, Aroe regularly inserts Uzi’s into his art as a nod to the era that introduced him to graffiti. He reveals:
‘It was really popular to take a character and give them a fat gold chain and shoes with big laces. I hate guns, they’re disgusting, but they’ve always been a joke in my work – I paint a portrait of something and then I give it an Uzi, so that everyone knows I’ve done it.'
Aroe populates his weapon with nods to vintage comics, graphic novels and films, poking fun at the out-dated brand of machismo that dominated the era.
This original piece comes framed in a 25mm black box frame with a white slip, and is signed by the artist.
