Framed Universal Majesty Verity Love Infinite (Signed)

Framed Universal Majesty Verity Love Infinite (Signed)

The late Jamie Reid is an iconic British artist, known as the artistic mastermind behind the visual style of the Sex Pistols. Reid is most famous for subverting portraiture of political figureheads, most notably piercing the lip of Queen Elizabeth II with a safety pin.

‘Universal Majesty Verity Love Infinite’ was a term used by Reid’s great uncle, George Watson MacGregor Reid, who was a health campaigner, civil rights activist, spiritual teacher and Chosen Chief of the Druid Order 1909-1946.

This 1989 artwork explores the many meanings and connections behind Jamie Reid’s OVA symbol, which combines the A for Anarchy with a V for Victory. OVA is also Latin for egg, and therefore symbolises the cycle of death and rebirth.

Please note: These works have been printed on an angle to the paper, as such the image itself does not sit straight on.

This silkscreen print is from an open edition of approximately 30, signed by the artist.

Please note this piece is framed in a black aluminium frame with regular glass.
