Gone Lisa
This piece is from Whathisname’s Gone series – a collection of prints featuring blurry silhouettes of beloved characters from our childhood, reaching out to us from behind a veil. In this instance, the character is Lisa Simpson.
The series is an exploration of the influence these cultural figures had on us as children. Although they once shaped us as people and informed the way we saw the world, now, they are little more than fond distant memories.
Whatshisname leaves it up to the observer to decide - is Lisa holding up her hand to wave goodbye forever? Or is she asking us to remember everything she taught us?
This giclée print with hand-torn edges is from a limited edition of 50, signed and numbered by the artist.
