Hallelujah

Hallelujah

Haus Of Lucy, AKA Lucy Bryant, is a contemporary artist who appropriates found objects and images, and slips in quirky nods to contemporary culture. This piece is part of a series celebrating the ā€˜Madchester’ musical and cultural scene that first emerged in the late 80s, with bands like Joy Division and New Order.

Lucy reveals the story behind the piece: ā€œLast month had been all about the vicar's turnips and the month before was a talk from local metal detectorist Ian's collection of tin cans. The ladies of the Sodding-ChippenhamĀ WI were in dire need of something interesting at their monthly talks. Luckily, next month BezĀ from The Happy Mondays is booked in to giveĀ  them a talk about his journey from drug-loving-maraca-playing-dancer to the beekeeping-body-building brewer of beer that he is today. He's agreed to give each lady a jar of honey and a bottle of Bez-beer to take away AND a Maraca lesson! How exciting! Lady E has had great fun ordering a range of Happy Mondays T-shirts for theĀ ladies to wear to makeĀ Bez feel right at home.ā€Ā

Hallelujah is an original piece by Haus of Lucy made from Your Nan's china ornament, polymer clay, ceramic paint and photographic paper.
