Hey Saint, Framed Original

Hay Saint is a painting on raw canvas, made as a kind of talisman for the home. At its centre stands a straw horse fragile yet unshaken woven from the same material that once cushioned harvests, cradled animals, and held ritual meaning in village life.

In Polish folk tradition, the horse is more than an animal: it carries strength, courage, abundance, and safe passage. Straw, too, honoured in ritual charms that promised protection and abundance.

Here, both horse and straw return in a dreamlike guise, suspended between memory and spell, their presence meant to guard, to bless.
