Hope

Hope is a new, multi-platform collaboration between acclaimed artists Maxim and Dan Pearce, containing an exclusive four track Maxim EP and a short film, telling the story behind the artwork.

This project was created over a year of lockdowns in the UK. The figure of the little boy in a gas mask is preparing to pull the pin on a clear, resin grenade, containing a heart. The heart inside represents the vaccine and the hope that will help us navigate the world we are stepping into as lockdown eases. The piece is a perfect collaboration between the two; Maxims famous grenade motifs and resin artworks combined with Dan Pearce's expertise with 3D models.

A short film accompanies this artwork, touching on issues such as the pandemics impact on homelessness, with a cameo from Maxim as a person living on the streets. Dans son plays a child living through the pandemic, highlighting the impact on childrens mental health as well as austerity, with touching food bank scenes. It closes with a strong message of kindness, giving and the "hope' we are looking towards.

A bespoke memory card will be available with each sculpture, containing the new 'Hope' EP, consisting of four new tracks by Maxim. The EP is exclusively for buyers of the sculptures on 20 May.  Three months after the release the music will be available to the general public via digital outlets like Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon on the Red Room Arts label.
