I Am Therefore I Am, Framed Original

Richard Berner is a Brighton-based artist known for his ‘surrealist architecture', which involves creating artworks from a meticulously-hand-drawn cast of little figures, that he calls ‘Champs.' 

In this piece, Berner depicts the torso of the Venus de Milo – a statue discovered in 1820 that dates back to Ancient Greece, and is said to portray Aphrodite. Berner joins the likes of Cézanne, Dali and Magritte in depicting this famous statue in their work.

This original mixed media artwork is created with ink and gouache on paper, and comes signed by the artist.
