In Two Minds, Framed Original

This piece is from Richard Berner’s 2023 solo show at Enter Gallery, You Can Be Anything (*or Nothing). The show is a humorous exploration of the ambiguity of art and its capacity to mean everything to one person, and absolutely nothing to the next.

In this piece, Berner explores the idea of subjective interpretation. Is the piece reminiscent of childhood, or is it just a teddy with two heads? You decide. Berner explains:

“To some, the champs are something meaningful, to others, the works are nothing more than a picture made up of tiny people. I’m interested in the sentiment that we don’t see things as they are, we see things as we are.”

This original artwork is created with ink and gouache on paper. It has deckled edges and comes signed by the artist.
