This piece is from Ghost Town - Haus of Lucy’s 2023 show at Enter Gallery. The show explores the death of the high street, and its knock-on effects on our sense of community and connection.

For the show, Lucy transformed vintage ceramic shopfronts, cottages, biscuit barrels and teapots to provide a more modern take on the type of businesses that now populate our central thoroughfares. Lucy tells us:

“I’ve come along and done to these original ceramics what’s actually being done to high streets across the country."

Here, Lucy depicts a staple of every high street – betting shop, Ladbrokes, complete with defaced phone box.

This hand-finished original piece is created from a repurposed ceramic shop using ceramic paint, photographic paper, varnish, polymer clay and air drying clay. It comes signed by the artist.
