Since his career began in the 1950s, Sir Peter Blake has been prolific, creating paintings, collage, typography and more inspired by his fascination with popular culture. Blakeās impact on the face of contemporary art is so significant, he is now known as the āGodfather of Pop Artā.
In his Lobster Suite series, Blake has combined a found art image of a lobster from his personal collection of ephemera with three original images: a watercolour, an original etching with aquatint on copper, and a hand-drawn stone lithograph.
The series is from a limited edition of 50, and each of the pieces is signed by the artist. Part of the proceeds will be donated to the National Lobster Hatchery.
