When two of his pieces were stolen in an art heist a few years back, Mitchell believed them to be lost forever. However, following the recent arrest and subsequent trial of a Manchester playboy and ‘top tier’ cocaine gang boss, the precious artworks were recovered alongside originals from Banksy and Andy Warhol.
The pieces were inspired by Ukiyo-e – a genre of Japanese art depicting idealised erotic scenes, widely acknowledged as having influenced modern art movements such as Manga and Animé.
From a limited edition of 10, each piece is framed in a black frame and is signed and numbered by the artist. The piece is available in three different sizes.
