Marilyn's Door

Since his career began in the 1950s, Sir Peter Blake has been prolific, creating paintings, collage, typography and more inspired by his fascination with popular culture. Blake’s impact on the face of contemporary art is so significant, he is now known as the ‘Godfather of Pop Art.’

This piece hails from Blake's revered 2008 Replay series, in which he revisits his own work from the early 60s.  

Marilyn’s Door is one of many Blake artworks to depict the Hollywood legend. Here Blake denotes Monroe's star power using a number one and a silver star.  

This silkscreen print is from a limited edition of 175, signed and numbered by the artist.
