Mrs Organ Morgan's General Shop is a signed, limited edition digital print on archival Da Vinci soft textured 315gsm paper by Peter Blake.
Internationally acclaimed for its eccentricity and widely admired for its lovelorn lyricism, Dylan Thomas’s groundbreaking 1954 ‘play for voices’, Under Milk Wood, has long captivated Blake. This fascination, spanning nearly thirty years, has filled his studio with echoes of Thomas’s poetic world, inspired repeated listening to recordings, and prompted pilgrimages to Thomas’s creative refuge in Laugharne, Carmarthenshire.
In addition to the Under Milk Wood Portfolio, Blake produced The Sailor's Arms, The Afternoon Buzzes, and Mrs Organ Morgan's General Shop. The Sailor's Arms is a signed original print in an edition of 100, created to accompany the De Luxe Edition of Thomas’s Under Milk Wood, published by Enitharmon Editions, while The Afternoon Buzzes and Mrs Organ Morgan's General Shop were produced for the Fine Binding Edition.
