This piece is from Ghost Town - Haus of Lucy’s 2023 show at Enter Gallery. The show explores the death of the high street, and its knock-on effects on our sense of community and connection.

For the show, Lucy transformed vintage ceramic shopfronts, cottages, biscuit barrels and teapots to provide a more modern take on the type of businesses that now populate our central thoroughfares. Lucy tells us:

“I’ve come along and done to these original ceramics what’s actually being done to high streets across the country.”

Here, Lucy depicts fast food favourite, Nando’s, the best spot for chicken in Ghost Town. Just don’t tell the lads at Chicken Cottage we said that!

This hand-finished original piece is created from a repurposed plaster shop front, air drying clay, ceramic paint, acrylic paint, photographic paper and varnish.
