Featuring ancient mythological beings, anatomical drawings, dream imagery and religious iconography, Dan Hillier is known for working with composite images and 19th-century engravings to create captivating, mystical works, blending Surrealism and Neo-Victoriana.

In 2016/17 Dan Hillier exhibited Nothing Matters as part of a new body of work in a solo exhibition at Saatchi Gallery, titled Ceremony.

Nothing Matters depicts a fantastical feathered creature and a monochrome skull, garlanded with bright, exotic flowers. Brimming with the pageantry and colour of Mexico's Dia de Meurtos, Nothing Matters' starkly nihilistic title offers an allegory of life and death as connected, cyclical, inevitable and universal.

Nothing Matters is a hand-pulled 13-colour silkscreen print, signed and numbered by the artist, and from a limited edition of 100.
