'Darling, you are SO romantic!' squealed Mary as her husband, the celebrated poet Robert Burns, presented her with chocolates, flowers, a teddy, balloon and a beautiful card. Perhaps Mary wouldn't have been quite so effusive in her praise had she known that Robert had run down to the BP garage only half an hour prior - he had COMPLETELY forgotten it was Valentine's Day. Mary was so happy with her husband's thoughtfulness that not only did she cook him a meal of all his favourite foods, (Haggis, Neeps & Tatties & a deep fried Mars Bar for dessert) but she also treated him to that thing she only did on his birthday (that thing she used to do loads before they were married). RESULT!
