Jayson Lilley's love of urban architecture shines through his work, and reminds us of the beauty to be found in the urban environment when we choose to notice it. Using his innovative printmaking practice, which combines silkscreen with painting and collage techniques, the artist recreates iconic views and buildings of London and New York, playing with colour and perspective in the process.
One Tree Hill is a hand-pulled screenprint with gold leaf, printed on a one-pound note from the 1980s. Lilley has captured the view from the hill in the London Borough of Southwark, which takes in some of the city's most well-known buildings, including The Shard, The Walkie Talkie and The Gherkin.
The print is from a limited edition of 50, signed and numbered by the artist.
