Mateo Humano uses forgotten images and traditional patterns and symbols to create his ‘monologues of the soul’. In creating artworks from carpets traditionally woven by women and placed on the ground, Mateo honours ancient cultures, and celebrates the beauty and strength of women.
Oracle was created especially for Mateo’s showcase at Enter Gallery in April 2022. The piece is inspired by the sphinxes from 1984 movie, The Neverending Story – who are said to symbolise strength and intelligence.
This artist proof giclée and silkscreen print is hand-finished with spray paint, and signed and numbered by the artist.
