This piece is from Ghost Town - Haus of Lucy’s 2023 show at Enter Gallery. The show explores the death of the high street, and its knock-on effects on our sense of community and connection.

For the show, Lucy transformed vintage ceramic shopfronts, cottages, biscuit barrels and teapots to provide a more modern take on the type of businesses that now populate our central thoroughfares. Lucy tells us:

“I’ve come along and done to these original ceramics what’s actually being done to high streets across the country.”

Here, Lucy depicts Ghost Town’s pricey Artisan Bakery, where a loaf of sourdough will only set you back a tenner. 

This hand-finished piece is created from a repurposed vintage teapot, polymer clay, air drying clay, ceramic paint, acrylic paint and photographic paper.
