Pure Audrey Ocean Colours

With a moniker like Pure Evil, it’s little surprise the internationally-renowned street artist is best known for his Nightmare Series – a selection of portraits of iconic and doomed celebrities, each shedding a tear as they face their own nightmare.

The collection, reminiscent of Warhol’s famous screenprints, is a reflection on the darker side of celebrity worship. Pure Audrey depicts Audrey Hepburn, the iconic star of classic movies like Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Roman Holiday and Funny Face.

Pure Evil has described his moniker as a ‘bit of a joke’, but reveals that it gives him license to have fun with gloomy imagery, and to reflect on the darkness in the world right now. ‘You can’t just ignore it and do a nice picture of a unicorn,’ he says. ‘Unless it’s a unicorn with a rocket launcher on its head.”

This three colour screenprint print is from a limited edition of 100, signed by the artist.
